Albufeira

Location - Albufeira is geographically central in the Algarve and is approximately 35kms west of Faro airport. It is primarily known as the tourist centre of the region with a population that expands to over 300,000 during the summer months.

Alcoutim

Monchique

Monchique is situated to the north of Portimão and shares borders with Aljezur in the west, Lagos in the south-west, Portimão in the south and Silves in the east. Monchique is 85kms west of Faro airport.

Olhão

Olhão is situated in the east of the Algarve and is a coastal council. It borders Tavira in the north-east and Faro in the west with the Atlantic Ocean in the south. Olhão is nearly 18kms east of Faro airport.

Portimão

Portimão is located towards the west of the Algarve and borders Lagos to the west, Monchique to the north, Lagoa to the south-east and Silves to the east. Portimão is 69.5 kms west of Faro airport.

São Bras de Alportel

São Bras de Alportel is located to the north east of the Algarve and borders with four other councils, namely Loulé in the west, Faro in the south-west, Olhão in the south-east and Tavira in the east. São Bras de Alportel is 20kms north-west of Faro airport.

Silves

Silves is located slightly to the west of the region. It is bordered by Albufeira in the south-west, Lagoa in the south, Portimão in the south-west, Monchique in the west, and Loulé in the east. Silves is 62.5 kms west of Faro airport.

Tavira

Tavira is situated in the east Algarve and is bordered by Loulé in the north-west, Alcoutim in the north-east, Castro Marim in the east, Vila Real de Stº António in the south-east, São Bras de Alportel in the west, and Olhão in the south-west. Tavira is 40.1 kms east of Faro airport.

Vila do Bispo

Vila do Bispo is located on the west coast of the Algarve and it shares borders with Aljezur to the north and Lagos to the east. Vila do Bispo is 110kms west of Faro airport.
