General information - Lagos is an ancient maritime town with more than 2,000 years of history. It is well inhabited by expatriates in its parishes of Praia da Luz and Burgau and prides itself on having one of the best kept marinas in the region. The inland region is sparsely inhabited, with the majority of the people working in agriculture and forestry.
Facilities - Lagos has a football ground, a well developed versatile marina and a zoo. During the summer months, Lagos comes alive with bars, restaurants and nightclubs vying for custom from the tourists. The out skirting towns and villages still however remain relatively quiet, tranquil and green.
