Lagoa is bordered by Portimão in the west and Silves in the north and east and to the south the Atlantic Ocean and is approximately 59kms from Faro airport. Its area is split into 6 parishes.
General information
Lagoa itself, has become a haven for businesses, and has become known as the Fleet Street of the Algarve, housing 2 out of 3 of the English language newspapers and various magazines and publication companies. Access to the motorway has made Lagoa a very important area for business.Its coastal towns including Praia do Carvoeiro, have been inhabited by expatriates for years and the many of the beaches are frequented by tourists during the summer months and the bars and nightlife help the enjoyment factor of this area.

Lagoa has a football ground, an outdoor exhibition centre where the biggest exhibition in the Algarve is held yearly in August and a recently completed auditorium. This coupled with bars, restaurants and nightclubs, makes Lagoa a very sought after area.
